November 18, 2004 <br />Page 2 <br />Jennifer Long, and Bill Kirby. Motion to approve the recommendation <br />was made by David House, seconded by Linda Su Suarez. Motion <br />carried 6-0. <br />C. The Board recommended <br />Selecting signage for the PJC parking lot. <br />wording along the lines of “Complimentary Parking for Downtown <br />Shoppers” to be placed on a rectangular, two sided, brown sign. <br />Members felt the City might be able to get the sign donated from a local <br />sign company. Motion to approve the wording and design was made <br />by Suzy Harper, seconded by David House. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Barbara Wilson excused herself from the meeting temporarily. <br />D. The Director of <br />Establishing criteria for downtown facade grants. <br />Community Development advised the Board that the City would be <br />providing facade grants of up to $500.00 each for 10 downtown <br />businesses on a one to one match basis. She requested that the Board <br />establish criteria for what would qualify for funding. Motion was made <br />by Bill Kirby that grants be made available for any exterior work that <br />follows the guidelines established by the Historic Preservation <br />Commission, seconded by Suzy Harper. Motion carried 5-0. <br />E. <br />Making recommendations to the Historic Preservation Commission <br />regarding design guidelines for the Downtown Historic District relating <br />to the following: <br />(1)Sidewalk displays and furnishings. <br />(2)Public amenities. <br />(3)Miscellaneous. <br />The Board took no action, stating they would prefer to wait until the <br />consultant provided initial recommendations as a guideline. <br />4. <br />Receipt of the following reports: <br />A. Lisa Wright and Millie McDonald <br />Festival of Pumpkins wrap up. <br />reported that the City had collected enough money to almost pay every <br />expenses related to the Festival. <br /> <br />
