<br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />October 18, 2004 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in special session at 4:00 P. M., <br />Monday, October 18, 2004 in the Community Exhibit Building of the Red <br />River Valley Fairgrounds. Mayor Curtis Fendley called the meeting to order <br />with the following Council members present: Jim Bell, Mary Ann Fisher, Don <br />Wilson, Karen Wilkerson, and Rick Poston. Also present were Interim City <br />Manager Larry Shaw, City Attorney Larry W. Schenk and Asst. City Clerk <br />Sherian Dixon. <br />Mayor Fendley announced that the Council would conduct personal interviews <br />with the candidates for City Manager. He also mentioned that Chris Hartung <br />of Waters Consultants could not attend the meeting today. <br />He introduced Steven Bonczek, who had over twenty-five (25) years experience <br />as a City Manager. Mr. Bonczek mentioned he was currently employed with <br />Metro Rail Line, but missed being a City Manager. He said his most recent <br />City Manager position was in Beaumont, Texas. Following a question and <br />answer period, Mayor Fendley thanked Mr. Bonczek. <br />Mayor Fendley announced a brief recess at 4:45 P.M. He reconvened the Open <br />Meeting for interviews at 5:10 P.M. <br />Mayor Fendley introduced the next City Manager candidate, Gus Pappos.. Mr. <br />Poppas said he had been the City Manager of Del Rio, Texas, Hot Springs, <br />Arkansas and White Settlement, Texas. Following a question and answer <br />period, Mayor Fendley thanked Mr. Pappos. <br />Mayor Fendley announced a brief recess at 5:50 P.M. He reconvened the <br />meeting at 6:05. <br />Mayor Fendley introduced Tony N. Williams. Mr. Williams indicated he has <br />been City Manager of Gladewater, Mt. Pleasant, Marshall and Kilgore. <br />Following a question and answer period, Mayor Fendley thanked Mr. Williams. <br /> <br />
