Enacting Clause <br /> <br />1-100 That Ordinance No. 1122, passed by the <br />City Council on September 10, 1945, and <br />Ordinance No. 1409, passed by the City <br />Council on the 30th day. of July, 1957, <br />Zoning Ordinances, together with all <br />amendments thereto, are hereby amended <br />in their entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 2. Purpose <br /> <br />2-100 The Zoning Regulations and Districts as <br />herein established have been made in <br />accordance with a Comprehensive Plan <br />for the purpose of promoting the health, <br />safety, morals, and general welfare of the <br />City. They have been designed to lessen <br />the congestion in. the streets; to secure <br />safety from fire, panic and other dangers; <br />to provide adequate light and air; to pre- <br />vent the overcrowding of land, to avoid <br />undue concentration of population; to fa- <br />cilitate the adequate provision of trans- <br />portation, water, sewerage, schools, parks <br />and other public requirements. They have <br />been made 'with reasonable consideration, <br />among other things, for the character of <br />the district, and its peculiar suitability for <br /> <br />3033 <br />
