RESOLUTION NO. 2005-018: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, NOMINATING A CANDIDATE FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE LAMAR COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF BOBBY WALTERS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Larry Schenk pointed out there is a process that must be followed beyond this. The Appraisal District actually takes all nominees and the Board makes the selection from the nominees presented. We have received the letter requesting nominees. Motion to nominate Jay Guest made by Councilwoman Wilkerson - Councilman Bell- second. Motion carried - 7 ayes, 0 nays. 6.Receipt of report from Planning and Zoning Commission. A.Public Hearing to consider the petition of Brad Drake for a change in zoning from a Commercial District (C) to Light Industrial District (LI) on Lot 27-A, City Block 251, being number 205 Loop 286 N.W. Mayor Fendley advised this item was tabled last month and would require a motion to bring it from the table. It was denied by Planning and Zoning because the individual did not show up. Councilman Wilson - motion to bring it from the table. Councilman Poston - second. Motion carried 7 ayes - 0 nays. Mayor Fendley opened the public hearing and asked for anyone speaking either for or against the request to do so. With no one speaking, Mayor Fendley closed the public hearing.
