<br />Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />March 1, 2005 <br /> <br />The Traffic Commission met in a called session, Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 5:15 <br />P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present: <br /> <br />1. Ed Ellis 2. Mary Lane 3. Jon McFadden <br />4. Ed Seidle 5. George Kimbrough 6. Matt Frierson <br /> <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:15 by Chairman Ed Ellis. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />The first agenda item was the closure of SE 3 ST from Kaufman to Austin, which <br />had been tabled. Mr. Seidle made a motion to bring the item from the table, Mr. <br />McFadden seconded and the motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Assistant Chief Hundley made the commissioners aware that Dan Harrison who <br />represents First Baptist Church had stopped by before the meeting and informed <br />him that the Church was looking at other alternatives, but did not withdraw the <br />request. <br /> <br />Mr. Kimbrough made a motion that the request be denied, seconded by Mr. <br />Seidle, the motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Ellis moved to the next and last item on the agenda, the request for a stop <br />sign at the intersection of Brownwood and NE 36 ST. Assistant Chief Hundley <br />informed the commissioners that a request had been received for the stop sign <br />by a resident in the area, a Jerry Souder due to him witnessing near accidents. <br />Assistant Chief Hundley told the commissioners that this is a “T” intersection and <br />a stop sign would help prevent accidents. <br /> <br />Mr. McFadden made a motion to place a stop sign on Brownwood at NE 36 ST, <br />Ms. Lane seconded, and the motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Kimbrough made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Seidle and passed 6- <br />0.
