<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Minutes <br /> Traffic Commission <br /> City of Paris <br /> <br /> The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, October 04, 2011, at 5:15 P.M. in the <br /> Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br /> <br /> 1. Ken Kohls <br /> 2. Barry Shiver <br /> 3. George Kimbrough <br /> 4. Stephen Holmes <br /> 5. Jon McFadden <br /> 6. Jean Schweers <br /> <br /> <br /> The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. Joe McCarthy was <br /> present as council liaison. <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5:15pm by Stephen Holmes. A quorum was <br /> established by 6 members being present. <br /> <br /> Mr. Holmes moved to item #2 to approve minutes from September 06, 2011 <br /> meeting. Mr. Kimbrough made a motion to approve minutes and Mr. McFadden <br /> second the motion. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br /> Mr. Holmes moved to item #3 regarding discussion and possible action regarding <br /> the installation of a stop sign at 27th NE & Hickory. Mr. Tuttle informed members <br /> that he had received a call from Jeff Higgins, a resident in that area. Mr. Tuttle <br /> reported that Mr. Higgins had made a request for a stop sign at this location due <br /> to vehicles not stopping at the intersection. Mr. Tuttle informed members there <br /> had been no accidents at this location within the last three years. After discussion <br /> Mr. Kohls made a motion to deny the installation of a stop sign at 27th NE & <br /> Hickory. Mr. McFadden second the motion and the motion carried 6-0. It was <br /> requested that this intersection be patrolled as much as possible. <br /> <br /> Mr. Holmes moved to item #4 regarding discussion and possible action regarding <br /> the removal of No Parking Zone on S. Main from Sherman to Hearne. Mr. Tuttle <br /> informed members that he had been contacted by Councilman Frierson after he <br /> received a complaint from a citizen on S. Main asking the No Parking Zone be <br /> removed. Mr. Tuttle stated the citizen complained about not having adequate <br /> parking because of No Parking Zones on both sides of S. Main. After discussion <br /> Mr. Kohis made a motion to deny the request to remove the No Parking Zone on <br /> S. Main from Sherman to Hearne. Mr. Kimbrough second the motion and it <br /> passed 6-0. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 31 <br />
