DRAFT F:ATTORNEY\RESWORK\CURRENT\ tXdot Grant - Cox Field Impr 2005 June 8, 2005 RESOLUTION NO. __________ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AVIATION DIVISION, FOR A FEDERALLY ASSISTED AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT GRANT FOR A PAVEMENT AND HANGAR PROJECT AT COX FIELD AIRPORT, PROJECT NO. 06HGPARIS; AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH SAID GRANT APPLICATION; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF CITY FUNDS AS THE CITY’S LOCAL MATCHING SHARE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the State of Texas, acting through the Texas Department of Transportation Aviation Division, administers and acts as agent for certain Federally Assisted Airport Development Grants to improve qualified airports within the State of Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to make certain improvements to Cox Field Airport; and, WHEREAS, the general description of the aforesaid project is to perform various pavement improvements and hangar construction at Cox Field Airport; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division, in the form of a Federally Assisted Airport Development Grant or otherwise, to defray a portion of the cost of these improvements; and, WHEREAS, the total project cost is currently estimated at $622,223.00 and the City of Paris will be responsible for a portion of the total project cost with such local funds contribution estimated to be $105,556.00; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it is appropriate and in the best interest of the City to authorize application for said grant and the subsequent implementation of said NOW, THEREFORE, grant, if approved, upon receipt thereof; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
