Mr. Singles informed Council that after the signals <br />were installed they would be checked to insure they were working properly. <br />Councilman Manning expressed concern about an individual being able to tell <br />the signals apart. Mr. Singles advised they followed the guidelines of the <br />Disabilities Act with regard to the specifications of the signals and their <br />placement. He said there shouldn’t be any mistaking as to which signal is <br />which. Councilwoman Wilkerson wanted to what lets the individual know <br />which way is safe. Mr. Singles said there will be a ping pong directional signal. <br />Tony Williams inquired if TxDOT needed an action from the Council or was <br />it a notification process. Mr. Singles said they would like an action from the <br />Council. <br />Mayor Fendley moved to Agenda Item 5C. <br />5.C.RESOLUTION NO. 2005-057: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF TEXAS <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FINAL PLANS FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF MISCELLANEOUS WORK CONSISTING OF AUDIBLE <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION (STATE PROJECT NO. C45-9-84) IN THE <br />PLAZA AREA OF DOWNTOWN PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />th <br />Mayor Fendley advised this item was tabled at the May 18 meeting, because <br />additional information was requested from TxDOT. Mayor Fendley informed Council <br />it they wished to discuss it, that a motion would be required to bring it from the table. <br /> <br />Upon a motion made by Councilman Wilson and a second by Councilman Manning, <br />the Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed to remove this item from the <br />table. The motion carried. <br />Motion to approve this item by Councilman Wilson. Councilwoman Fisher - second. <br />Motion carried - 5 ayes, 2 nays.
