<br />Planning and Zoning l\Iinutes <br />May 16, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Ward stated that a request was made to widen the buffer along the <br />east line. The buffer has been widened from 8' to 18'. The plans <br />have been revised, thereby, saving the big tree on the front along the <br />highway. There are a number of trees as well as crepe myrtle trees in <br />the buffer along Brady Fisher's property that will be saved. Mr. <br />Ward presented the revised plan. Also, to the rear of the shopping <br />center, there has been a retention pond added to the plan to save two <br />(2) 38" and 30" oak trees. <br /> <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of and action on the petition of Daniel G. Elcan for a <br />change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a General <br />Retail District (GR) on Lot 6, City Block 313, being number 3850 <br />Lamar Avenue. <br /> <br />Motion was made to approve the petition by Carl Lucas, seconded by <br />Russell McCain. Motion carried 5 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Consideration of and action on the Preliminary Plat of Lots 1 and 2, <br />City Block 313, B.D.T. Subdivision. <br /> <br />This item was tabled at the May 2, 2005, regular meeting. Should the <br />Commission wish to consider this matter today, a motion to bring this <br />item from the table is required. <br /> <br />Motion was made to bring this item from the table by Brad Archer, <br />seconded by Russell McCain. Motion carried 5 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Motion made to approve the preliminary plat subject to the City <br />Engineer's Memo, dated April 27, 2005, by Brad Archer, seconded by <br />Carl Lucas. Motion carried 5 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m. <br />
