<br />Library Advisory Board <br />June 1, 2005 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LmRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />May 18, 2005 <br /> <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at 4:00PM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following Board members were present: <br />Anna Davis, Sarah GambiD, Deborah Hatley, Nancee Salzman, and Jake <br />Street. Also attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library Director, and <br />Amanda Green, Friends of the Library President. Absent were Jackie <br />Alsobrook, Bill Kennedy, Carl Lucas and Walter Williams. <br /> <br />The minutes from the April meeting were approved. <br /> <br />Chairman Nancee Salzman appointed Jake Street and Sarah Gambill to <br />serve as members of the nominating committee for officers to be voted on <br />at the June meeting. Also possible candidates for replacing outgoing Board <br />members will be submitted at the June meeting. <br /> <br />The budget report was favorable. <br /> <br />April circulation statistics were down 27% from the same month in 2004, <br />and library visits were down 17%. A total of 471 new items were added <br />to the coDection in ApriL <br /> <br />Children's programming in April included 13 programs with 277 children <br />and 69 adults attending. The Summer Reading Club will begin June 7, and <br />wiD have programs for elementary and preschool age children. <br /> <br />Memorial donations for April totaled $668. <br /> <br />Friends of the Library President Amanda Green reported on the Friends' <br />account balance. Much of the revenue was generated from membership <br />dues. A Friends of the Library newsletter will be distributed soon. The <br />first Annual Friends Book Sale will be held in September in the Library. <br />Friday, September 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. will be a preview for Friends <br /> <br />I <br />
