<br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND <br />ZONING COMMISSION <br />JULY 5, 2005 <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday, July 5, 2005, 5:30, <br />Lamar County Fairgrounds, Westside Building, 570 E. Center Street, <br />Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br /> <br />1. Reeves Hayter <br />2. Marshall Kent <br />3. Carl Lucas <br /> <br />4. Bobby L. Myers <br />5. Barbara Forrest <br />6. Brad Archer <br /> <br />Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development, was also present. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Reeves Hayter. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (June 6, 2005, Regular <br />Meeting; June 20, 2005, Special Meeting) Motion was made to <br />approve the minutes by Marshall Kent, seconded by Brad Archer. <br />Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Public Hearing to consider the petition of Clay Yates for a change in <br />zoning from a Light Industrial District (LI) to a One-Family Dwelling <br />District No.2 (SF-2) on Part of Lot 4, City Block 188-A, being <br />number 1345 8th Street S.E. <br /> <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br /> <br />Clay Yates' sister, Ms. Calhoun, 1115 NW 16th Street, spoke in favor <br />or the petition stating that their parents want to build a house on this <br />property. There is no house currently on the property. Mr. Yates' <br />parents presently live at 1427 SE 8th Street. Mr. Yates wants to build <br />on the vacant lot that they own instead of tearing the down the house <br />where they are currently living. <br /> <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />I <br />
