TEXAS <br />MONDAY. JULY 13. 2005 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Paul Denney <br />Jerry Raper <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the June 27, 2005, meeting was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />28 W. Plaza - Joey Sleeper. Joey Sleeper has demolished part of the <br />storefront and found a few surprises. The majority of the brick is <br />covered with plaster. Mr. Sleeper is negotiating the removal of the <br />plaster to determine the condition of the brick underneath. Mr. Sleeper <br />is okay with the Texas Historical Commission's recommendation but <br />is not sure if the clear story windows with the 3 x 4 divided light are <br />more appropriate than the 3 x 3 divided light. Motion by Sue Lancaster <br />to approve with three changes: (1) put in transom windows with 3 x 3 <br />panels (2) show windows on the first floor would have one divided <br />mullion, and (3) place side lights at a 45 degree angle, seconded by <br />Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />I <br />
