<br />Library Advisory Board <br />August 10, 2005 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />AD VISOR Y BOARD <br />July 20, 2005 <br /> <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at 4:00PM in the Library with Chairman Bill <br />Kennedy presiding. The following Board members were present: Jackie <br />Alsobrook, Debbie Anderson, Deborah Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Audrey <br />Lakes, Carl Lucas and Fran Neeley. Also attending were Priscilla <br />McAnally, Library Director, and Amanda Green, Friends of the Library <br />President. Absent were Sarah Gambill and Jake Street. <br /> <br />The minutes from the June meeting were approved. <br /> <br />Ms. McAnally gave an update on the Polaris Integrated Library System. <br />City Council granted approval to order the new system to replace the <br />current Galaxy system in use. The Library will be closed to the public <br />August 22-24 for staff training and will reopen with the new system in <br />place on August 25. Trust funds were expended for the upgrade rather <br />than city funds. <br /> <br />A new Library Policies manual will be drafted. Ms. McAnally will begin <br />with Circulation portion of the document. Several months will be needed <br />to complete the project. <br /> <br />The budget report was favorable. <br /> <br />June circulation statistics were down 370/0 from the same month of 2004, <br />and library visits were down 32%. A total of391 new items were added to <br />the collection in June. <br /> <br />Children's programming in June included 12 programs with 551 children <br />and 195 adults attending. <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />I <br />
