<br />SPECIAL WORK SESSION MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />August 8, 2005 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special work session at 6:00 P. M. <br />Monday, August 8, 2005, at the Love Civic Center, 2025 South Collegiate Drive, <br />Paris, Texas. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor: <br /> <br />Curtis Fendley <br /> <br />Council Members: Tim Ray; Richard Manning, Mayor Pro <br />Tem; Mary Ann Fisher; Karen Wilkerson; <br />Rick Poston; and Don Wilson <br /> <br />City Staff: <br /> <br />Tony N. Williams, City Manager; Larry <br />W. Schenk, City Attorney; and Janice <br />Ellis, City Clerk <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Budget Workshop - receive presentation from City Manager regarding the fiscal year <br />2005-2006 Budget. <br /> <br />Tony Williams presented a draft of each of the two budgets, one without privatization <br />and one with privatization. Tony explained that both budgets had more revenue than <br />expenses and both budgets included a 3% cost of living raise for all employees. One of the <br />differences between the privatized version and non-privatized version is that privatization <br />version proposes a 2 to 1 match for employee retirement, an additional $100,000.00 for <br />removal of dilapidated structures and an additional $250,000.00 a year for street <br />improvements. <br /> <br />Tony asked Council Members to study the budget at length and meet again August <br />22nd, after the regular meeting. At that point, he will answer questions or give clarification <br />on any of the items presented in the budgets. Tony proposed that they conduct a public <br />hearing on the proposed budget, September 12, 2005, which is after the September 10th <br />election. <br /> <br />Council Member Ray left the meeting at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of and action on the following Resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-092: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE <br />CITY MANAGER'S PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006; <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />I <br />
