Innovation Agendas. Advanced manufacturing companies are seeking any innovation practice, <br />technology, tools and knowledge that improve upon their production outputs, human capital <br />productivity, and uniquely position their products in the global marketplace, incIuding: <br />• Robotics and Automation <br />• Information Systems <br />• Raw Product Efficiencies (Farm-to-Market) <br />• LEAN I'rocesses Thraughout the Operations <br />• External "ldeation" through Web Portals <br />Through their vendor-supplier chains, industry trade organizations, and in partnership with <br />academic research campuses, several of the global brand companies have formed innovation <br />agendas to increase productivity and bottom line profits. In the past two years, many <br />corporations have created Open Saurce Innovation portals - welcoming any ideas from <br />custoxners, suppliers, researchers - to solve known and unknown challenges. LEAN is the initial <br />discussion point for firms. <br />Impact on NE Texas Region: While no research campus exist immediately in the region, access <br />to Texas A&M, UT, Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, Texas State Technical College <br />provide widely regarded counsel, guidance, and possible investment of time, insight, and <br />resources. <br />We will pursue the following action items during grant implementation: <br />1. Establish an Innovation Hub at the existing industrial park. Train and transfer "how-to" <br />practices to Iocal economic developers and civic leaders across the region. <br />2. Support the NE Texas Manufaeturing Alliance with LEAN and related ideation through an <br />alliance with the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC). TMAC is the MEP <br />Network supported by NIST. <br />3. Leverage entrepreneurial endeavors to connect inventor wath corporate acquisition of <br />"innovation". <br />4. Reshape the Local and Regional "Sales Pitch". For example, locally with "Paris" as THE <br />brand of interest, it must be expanded upon and leveraged to its fullest. We will make the <br />name and the place a"global host" to global companies, create a global perspective in al] <br />materials and contacts, but be sophistieateti, not cute. Training will include the latest <br />marketing and sales techniques. <br />5. Address the Corporate Goals, Sustainability Models, and Innovation Objectives by seeking to <br />fulfill the Performance Scorecard far Shareholder Value and Production Benefit. <br />6. Connect with the Marketplace of 15 miliion eonsumers in the faur-statE "region" of a 3-5 <br />hour transportation linkage including ties with DFW, Port of Houston, Texarkana, Little <br />Rock, and Oklahoma City. <br />7. Foeus on Project Readiness, Incentives for Globalization, Sustainable Packaging, R&D and <br />Innovation 5upport. <br />8. Using highly-impressive Data Analytics and Presentation, preview onIine and in real-time <br />cost comparatives, site location, resource znapping, and other "ingredients" to meet Corparate <br />Goals, Missions, and Objectives for 2012-2014 timelines. <br />11 <br />_ ~ 172 <br />
