<br />Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />September 6, 2005 <br /> <br />The Traffic Commission met in a called session, Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at <br />5: 15 P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present: <br /> <br />1. <br />4. <br /> <br />Jon McFadden <br />Matt Frierson <br /> <br />2. Ed Seidle <br />5. Jordan Harper <br /> <br />3. George Kimbrough <br /> <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:17. <br /> <br />A motion was made to bring item 2, a 4-way stop at the intersection of Clark <br />Lane and Johnson Woods Dr off the table for consideration by Mr. McFadden <br />and seconded by Mr. Kimbrough. This motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />AC Hundley gave the commission the requirements for posting a multi-way stop <br />from the Texas Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and related to the <br />commission that there had been 2 accidents at the intersection in the last 5 <br />years. The commission asked that a traffic count be done for more information. <br />The item was tabled on a motion by Mr. McFadden, seconded by Mr. Frierson <br />and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Item #3 was a request from a citizen to place a 4-way stop at the intersection of <br />SE 17 ST and E. Washington. AC Hundley advised that the intersection was <br />already controlled by stop signs for north, southbound traffic and that no <br />accidents had been reported at the intersection in the last 5 years. Mr. Seidle <br />made a motion to deny placing a multi-way stop at the intersection which was <br />seconded by Mr. Frierson and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Item #4 was request for a stop sign placement for east and west bound traffic on <br />W. Cherry Street at the intersection of NW 14th Street. AC Hundley advised the <br />commission that there had been 2 accidents at this intersection in the last 5 <br />years. Mr. Kimbrough made a motion to place stop signs for east and west bound <br />traffic on W. Cherry at the intersection of NW 14th Street. This was seconded by <br />Mr. Harper and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The commission was advised of traffic study requests made to the Texas <br />Department of Transportation regarding the school zone on FM 79, traffic <br />congestion problems at the intersection of Stillhouse Road and Loop 286, and <br />speed study on SW 19 ST in the 1200 - 1400 Block. <br /> <br />. <br />
