<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-019, PASSED ON THE 14TH
<br />DAY OF APRIL, 1997, PERMITTING TIME FOR REPAIR OF STRUCTURES
<br />OTHERWISE DECLARED DILAPIDATED AT 1317 BONHAM, BEING LOT 1, CITY
<br />BLOCK 128, BELONGING TO CARROLL GENE TAYLOR, MARCIE DAVINE DORITY,
<br />GENORA KATHERINE ALVORD, AND LEONARD TERRELL TAYLOR, THROUGH
<br />THEIR AGENT, CARROLL GENE TAYLOR, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
<br />OF MAY 1, 1998.
<br />WHEREAS, Earl Smith, City Engineer, appeared before the City Council at its Regular
<br />Meeting on the 9th day of April, 1998, and requested that Carroll Gene Taylor, Marcie Davine
<br />Dority, Genora Katherine Alvord, and Leonard Terrell Taylor, through their agent, Carroll Gene
<br />Taylor, be permitted to repair and bring into Code compliance the structure heretofore declared
<br />to be dilapidated at 1317 Bonham, being Lot 1, City Block 128, since the ownership changed
<br />during the time of the dilapidation process, being without notice of the necessity of appearing
<br />before the Ciry Council at its regular meeting on the lOth day of April, 1997, when the ordinance
<br />declaring the structure at said address to be dilapidated and ordering the removal of the same was
<br />authorized; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the current owners of the property requested reconsideration of dilapidation
<br />and request that they be given until August 1, 1998, to accomplish rehabilitation; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Hazardous Building Inspection Committee did heretofore, on the 20th
<br />day of March, 1998, revisit 1317 Bonham and find that the building thereon can be rehabilitated;
<br />and,
<br />WHEREAS, the prospective purchaser, Carl Harcrow, has reviewed the inspection report
<br />prepared by the Hazardous Building Inspection Committee and states that he wishes to accomplish
<br />the rehabilitation; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Mr. Harcrow has a reputation in the community and past successes that
<br />convince the Hazardous Building Inspection Committee that he is capable of performing the work;
<br />and,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest of the
<br />City of Paris that its citizens, Carroll Gene Taylor, Marcie Davine Dority, Genora Katherine
<br />Alvord, and Leonard Terrell Taylor, through their agent, Carroll Gene Taylor, be given sixty (60)
<br />days to repair and bring into Code requirements the structure at 1317 Bonham, being Lot 1, City
<br />Block 128; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
<br />Section 1. That 1317 Bonham, being Lot 1 City Block 128, be removed from the list
<br />included in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 97-019 and that it be added to the list that appears in
<br />Section 5 of said Ordinance, with July 1, 1998, listed thereafter.
<br />Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly
<br />repealed.
<br />Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on May 1, 1998.
