ORDINANCC NO. 98-031 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 18-1 AND 18-5 OF SAID CODC; PROVIDING FOR ADMIMSTRATION OF THE JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT BY THE MUNICIPAL JUDGC; PROVIDING FOR THE RECOMMENDATION OF APPOINTMENT OF A MUNICIPAL COURT CLERK BY THE MUNICIPAL JUDGE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS ON' ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HCREWITII; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFN'ECTIVE DATE OF AUGUST 1, 1998. BE IT ORDAINCD BY THE CITY COUNCIL Oli' TIIC CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Sections 18-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is liereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec.18-1. Created. °There is hereby created, in accordance with section ?S of the Charter of the City, the judicial department. The administrative head of the judicial department shall be the municipal judge." Section 2. That Section 18-5 of die Code of Ordiiiances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 18-5. Municipal court cterk. "The city manager shall appoint a municipal court clerk who shall be recommended by the municipal judge." Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on August 1, 1998.
