ORDINANCE NO. 98-037 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1710 BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 8-106 AND 8-201 OF <br />SAiD ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR SEXUALLY ORIENTED BUSINESSES IN <br />COMMERC[AL (C), LiGHT INDUSTRIAL (LI), AND HEAVY INDUSTRIAL (HI) WITH <br />A L[CENSE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,040.00; REPEALING <br />ALL ORD(NANCES OR PARTS OF ORDfNANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1998. <br />BE IT ORDAi1VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL O1+ THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1710 City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising <br />Section 8-106 of said ordinance by providing for sexually oriented businesses in Commercial (C), <br />Light industrial (LI), and Heavy Industrial (1-II) with a license. <br />Section 2. That Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by <br />revising Section 8-201 of said ordinance by adding number 42 so that such shall read as follows: <br />"8-201 <br />"42. .Sex7inl/y Orienled Bu.ti•inesse,v an adult arcade, adult bookstore or adult video <br />store, adult cabaret, adult motel, adult motion picture theater, adult theater, escort <br />agency, nude model studio, or sexual encounter center." <br />Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of <br />a Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and each and <br />every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and be <br />deemed a separate offense. <br />Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly <br />repealed. <br />Section 5, This Ordinance shall become efTective on September l, 1998. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this I Oth day of August, 1998. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk <br />arles H.
