ORDINANCE NO. 98-066 <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM, REASONABLE, AND <br />PRUDENT RATE OF SPEED IN THE AREA OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS ON CERTAIN <br />PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE <br />CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF DECEMBER 1, 1998. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br />Section 1. That the following maximum, reasonable, and prudent rate of speed be, and the <br />same is hereby, established in the area of public schools on those portions of the street hereinafter <br />described: <br />T. G. GIVENS KINDERGARTEN: <br />On 6th Street N.E. beginning 200 feet south of the South Curb Line of <br />Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, north to the South Curb Line of Williams Street, <br />a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour will be effective on school days during <br />the following hours: <br />7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. <br />2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. <br />Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of <br />a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200.00. <br />Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly <br />repealed. <br />Section 4.
