<br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE
<br /> CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARI5, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER
<br /> 25, ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 25-36 AND 25-37 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
<br /> ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD GAS CODE, 1994 EDITION; PROVIDING FOR
<br /> DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS TO SAID CODE; PROVIDING
<br /> FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
<br /> PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
<br /> EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1996.

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
<br />
<br /> Section L That Chapter 25, Article III, Sections 25-36 and 25-37 of the Code of
<br /> Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, amended so that
<br /> such shall read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "Sec. 25-36. Standard Gas Code - Adoption.
<br />
<br /> "For the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for governing gas piping
<br /> systems extending from the point of delivery to the inlet connection of appliances,
<br /> and the installation and operation of residential and commercial gas appliances
<br /> and related accessories, the design, fabrication, installation, test and operation of
<br /> such systems for fuel gases such as natural gas, manufactured gas, undiluted
<br /> liquefied petroleum gases, liquefied petroleum gas-air, or mixture thereof, for use
<br /> in, on or about any and all premises in the City, that certain gas code known as
<br /> the Standard Gas Code, 1994 Edition, save and except such portions as are
<br /> deleted, modified or amended by this article, is hereby adopted and incorporated
<br /> as fully as if set out at length herein. A copy of such Code has been and is now
<br /> on file in the office of the City Clerk, and the provisions thereof shall be
<br /> controlling as above stated.
<br />
<br /> "Sec. 25-37. Standard Gas Code - Amendments.
<br /> "The Code adopted by Section 25-36 is hereby amended as set out in this
<br /> section:
<br />
<br /> "Section 306.1, Metallic Fipe, is amended by deleting the second sentence.
<br />
<br /> "Section 306.2, Metallic Tubing, is amended by deleting the first and fourth
<br /> sentences.
<br />
<br /> "Section 308.5, Piping Passing Above Grade Through Solid Floors or Solid
<br /> Walls, is amended by deleting Subparagraph 2.
<br />
<br /> "Section 110, Violations and Penalties, is amended to read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "`Any person, firm or corporation, or agent who shall violate a
<br /> provision of this Code, or who fails to comply herewith or with
<br /> any of the provisions hereof, or who violates a detailed statement
<br /> or plan submitted and approved hereunder, shall be guilty of a
<br /> misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not
<br /> to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), and each and every
<br /> day's continuance of any violation of the provisions hereof shall
<br />
<br /> constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty
<br /> of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
