<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 95-034 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARI5, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br /> CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 18-23(a) <br /> OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION OF SECURITY FEES TO BE USED FOR <br /> MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING SECURITY FUND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br /> PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1995. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 18-23(a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, <br /> Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Sec. 18-23. Fines and special expenses. <br /> <br /> (a). . . <br /> <br /> (1) A special expense for service performed in cases in which the laws of the state <br /> requiring that the case be dismissed because of actions by or on behalf of the <br /> defendant which were subsequent to the date of the alleged offense, being <br /> subsection (a), section 143A, Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways, <br /> article 6701d, of the Revised Civil Statutes, (permitting the taking of a defensive <br /> driving course to bring about dismissal of such action), such special expense <br /> shall not exceed the actual expenses incurred for the service or ten dollars <br /> ($10.00), whichever is less; <br /> <br /> (2) A security fee for conviction of a misdemeanor offense in municipal court in the <br /> amount of three dollars ($3.00) for municipal court building security fund. In <br /> accordance with Section 102.O1enoaems whenl used forh e purpose of <br /> may be used only to finance e folowg <br /> providing security services for buildings housing a municipal court; <br /> <br /> a, the purchase or repair of X-ray machines and conveying systems; <br /> <br /> b, handheld metal detectors; <br /> <br /> C. walkthrough metal detectors; <br /> <br /> d, identification cards and systems; <br /> <br /> e, electronic locking and surveillance equipment; <br /> <br /> f. bailiffs, or contract security personnel during times when they are <br /> providing appropriate security services; <br /> <br /> g. signage; <br /> <br /> h. confiscated weapon inventory and tracking systems; or <br /> <br /> i. locks, chains, or other security hardware <br /> <br /> shall be paid into the City treasury for the use and benefit of the City or as the laws of the state <br /> direct. <br />
