Library Advisory Board
September 16, 2005

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LmRARY
ADVISORY BOARD
August 17, 20, 2005

The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session
Wednesday, August 17,2005, at 4:00PM in the City Hall Council
Chambers with Chairman Bill Kennedy presiding. The following Board
members were present: Jackie Alsobrook, Sarah Gambill, Deborah
Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Audrey Lakes, Fran Neeley, and Jake Street. Also
attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library Director, and Amanda Green,
Friends of the Library President Absent were Debbie Anderson and Carl
Lucas.

The minutes from the July meeting were approved.

NETLS Lay Representatives from the Advisory Board, Jackie Alsobrook
and Sarah Gambill, agreed to continue to serve for another one-year term.

Consolidation of Library trust funds was discussed. Two new funds:
Library Expendable Fund and Library Permanent Fund would be used to
simplify the use of library monies. Some concern was expressed regarding
requests to honor family names of donors. Board moved to maintain donor
names in subcategories of trust funds.

The budget report was favorable.

July circulation statistics were down 29% from the same month of 2004,
and library visits were down 48%. A total of 351 new items were added to
the collection in July.

Children's programming in July included 6 programs with 205 children
and 59 adults attending.

Memorial donations for July totaled $953.

1

t
