The City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, acting in conformity with the powers vested therein by the Constitution and statutes of the State of Texas, hereby orders that notices of elections shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the geographic areas and in any posting as provided by law, wherein the public shall be notified of an Election of the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, from Single Members Districts, such districts being defined by maps on file with the office of the City Clerk, 150 1 st Street S.E., Paris, Texas. Section 3. This Order shall be directed to the United States Department of Justice for consideration in the submission for preclearance of boundaries for the City of Paris, Paris, Texas. No additional orders of this City Council shall be required, subject to formal preclearance by the Department of Justice, prior to implementation of the boundaries for single member districts. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective on June 27, 1994.
