<br />T <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />September 19, 2005 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special meeting at 6 :00 P. M. Monday, <br />September 19, 2005, at the Love Civic Center, 2025 South Collegiate Drive, Paris, <br />Texas. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor: <br /> <br />Curtis Fendley <br /> <br />Council Members: Tim Ray; Richard Manning, Mayor Pro <br />Tem; Mary Ann Fisher; Karen Wilkerson; <br />Rick Poston; and Don Wilson <br /> <br />City Staff: <br /> <br />Tony N. Williams, City Manager; Larry <br />W. Schenk, City Attorney; and Janice <br />Ellis, City Clerk <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Canvass the returns of the Special Initiative Election held on September 10, 2005. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley reported a tabulation of 1,072 for the proposition and 737 against. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-113: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS FOR THE <br />SEPTEMBER 10,2005, CITY-WIDE SPECIAL ELECTION ON A PROPOSITION <br />CALLING FOR THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE <br />CITY OF PARIS FROM PRIVATIZING THE COLLECTION, HANDLING, AND <br />DISPOSITION OF RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE, TRASH, AND RUBBISH AND <br />PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF FIXING CHARGES FOR SUCH SERVICE; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Motion to approve was made by Council Member Poston and seconded by Council <br />Member Fisher.
