<br />Special Budget Work Session <br />September 19,2005 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Consideration of and action on the following resolutions: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-049: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PROCUREMENT OF ADDITIONAL RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THETXDOT- <br />FUNDED PROJECT TO CONSTRUCT A LEFT -HAND TURN LANE ON <br />20TH STREET N.E. BETWEEN EAST PRICE STREET AND KYLE <br />STREET, BEING A PORTION OF LOT 4, CITY BLOCK 220-A FOR THE <br />PLACEMENT OF A SIGNAL LIGHT AND HANDICAP RAMP; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Motion to approve was made by Council Member Manning and seconded by Council <br />Member Fisher. Motion carried - 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Possible future agenda items. <br /> <br />Council Member Ray would like the city manager to look into an ordinance confining <br />large semi-trucks to the right hand lane on the part of the loop where there are four lanes. The <br />area is between Clarksville Lane and 82 West. Council Member stated there were a lot of <br />traffic problems at Pine Mill, which will worsen once the construction starts there. <br /> <br />Council Member Wilson wants a discussion item and possible action on water bill <br />deposits. Council Member Wilson wants to know if the deposit is retained or returned and <br />is particularly interested in instances where someone has had a deposit for ten years. <br /> <br />Council Member Wilson wants a discussion item regarding the effective dates of <br />ordinances, how those dates are determined and who determines those effective dates. <br /> <br />Council Member Wilson wants a discussion item regarding the staffing of the patrol <br />department of the police department. He specifically wants the civil service hiring rules <br />explained to Council.
