<br /> ORDINANCE
<br /> AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND DELIVERY OF THE CITY OF
<br /> PARIS, TEXAS WATERWORKS AND SEWER 5YSTEM REVENUE
<br /> BONDS, SERIES 1997, IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $5,000,000, AND
<br /> ORDAINING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO
<br />
<br /> THE STATE OF TEXAS .
<br /> COUNTY OF LAMAR .
<br /> CITY OF PARIS .
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there is presently outstanding the following bonds of the City of Paris (the
<br /> "Issuer"), which are secured by a pledge of the Net Revenues of the Issuer's Waterworks and
<br /> Sewer System:
<br />
<br />
<br /> City of Paris, Texas Waterworks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds, Series 1992,
<br /> dated December 15, 1992, maturing December 15, 1997 through December 15,
<br /> 2011, now outstanding in the principal amount of $8,315,000 (the "Series 1992
<br /> Bonds"); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the following bonds are payable from a tax and surplus revenues, if any, of
<br /> the Waterworks and Sewer System:
<br />
<br /> City of Paris, Texas Tax and Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 1991, dated
<br /> November 1, 1991, maturing December 15, 1997 through December 15, 2009,
<br /> now outstanding in the principal amount of $13,650,000 (the "Series 1991
<br /> Bonds"); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore, on the 13th day of January, 1997, adopted
<br /> a resolution authorizing and directing the City Clerk to give notice of intention to issue revenue
<br /> bonds; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, said notice has been duly published in The Paris News, which is a newspaper
<br /> of general circulation in said City, in its issues of January 19, 1997 and January 26, 1997; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City received no petition from the qualified electors of the City protesting
<br /> the issuance of such revenue bonds; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the bonds hereinafter authorized are to be issued and delivered pursuant to
<br /> Articles 1111 through 1118, V.A.T.C.S., Article 2368a, V.A.T.C.S., and Chapter 252, Local
<br /> Government Code.

<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
