ORDINANCE NO. 97-012 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBERED, 23-31 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING THAT BICYCLES, ROLLER SKATES, ROLLER BLADES, SKATE BOARDS BE PROHIBITED ON THE PUBLIC TENNIS COURTS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $500.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1997. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding a section to be numbered 23-31, to read as follows: "Section 23.31. Bicycle riding, skating and similar activities prohibited from tennis courts. "The use of bicycles, roller skates, roller Ulades, skate Uoards or other similar devices prohibited from the tennis courts. The tennis courts are to be used for tennis related activities only". Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $500.00, and each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall Uecome effective on March l, 1997.
