<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING RECEIVED <br />PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH SEP 2005 <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br />The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular meeting, Tuesday~lij~~)~ 2005, at <br />the Paris-Lamar County Health Department. Board members in attendance include Dr. Robert <br />Moseley, Dr. Caroline Wilson, Dr. Bert Strom, and Dr. David Carpenter. Others in attendance <br />included Mr. Tony Williams, Mr. Anthony Bethel, Ms. Martha Jo Anderson and Mrs. Carla <br />Rhodes. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM. <br /> <br />Minutes of previous meeting was approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams states if the board members want to move the Health Department to the existing <br />police station, then there needs to be a plan of action on remodeling the police station. <br /> <br />Dr. Strom states there is grant money available through McCuistion Foundation, St. Joseph <br />Foundation and Texas A&M, that can be used for remodeling the police station. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel states he needs to know how much grant money to request. <br /> <br />Dr. Carpenter states that Mr. Bethel should look at the building, draw a plan of how he needs it <br />to be and get Bobby Smallwood to look at the plan and give him an estimate. <br /> <br />Dr. Strom states that he will help Anthony to write for grant funds. <br /> <br />Ms. Anderson presented a request for two conferences and the travel expense, that she would <br />like to attend for Continuing Education for Nurse Practitioners, see attachment. <br /> <br />Dr. Carpenter made a motion for Ms. Anderson to attend both conferences and motion was <br />seconded my Dr. Strom, motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Bethel states that since the meeting that was held with Dr. MaGaha, he has had a telephone <br />conference call with Dr. MaGaha, discussing grant money. Dr. MaGaha will be sending a letter <br />on any funding through grants or anything else that could help the health Department. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams states that the board should make their case to the Senate and Representative on <br />needing more money. <br /> <br />Dr. Carpenter states that the board should go through Mark Homer. <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />I <br />
