Public hearing was closed. <br />Chairman Chalaire stated Mr. Atwood is renovating an existing structure on the property. <br />The existing structure will be utilized as an apartment. Mr. Atwood could have renovated <br />the building as an apartment in General Retail, which is what the recommended Future <br />Land Use Plan Map suggests. However, Mr. Atwood went to the Lamar County <br />Appraisal District (LCAD) to see what his taxes would be if he rezoned the property to <br />General Retail. LCAD let him know it would increase his taxes significantly, therefore, <br />he is reyuesting a change to Moderate-Density Residential. <br />Motion was made by James Price, seconded by Keith Flowers to approve the Future Land <br />Use Plan Map change to Moderate-Density Residential. Motion carried 6-0. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition ofAlvin Atwood,for a <br />change in zoning firom a One-Family Dwelling Distf-ict No. 2(SF-2) to a Two-Family <br />Dwelling District (2F), orz Lot 3, City Block 203, being number 2419 Boiiham Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />No one spoke in favor of the petition. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the petition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Holland Harper, seconded by Dennis Chalaire ta approve the zoning <br />change.
