<br /> AN OKDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
<br /> PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
<br /> AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 28-17 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR
<br /> SIUN CONTRACTORS'S BOND AND LIABILITY INSURANCE; PROVIDING
<br /> FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $500.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES

<br /> FOK AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1991.
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:

<br /> Section 1. That 5ection 28-17 of the Code of
<br /> Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
<br /> that such shall read as follows:
<br /> "Section 28-17. Sign contractor's bond and
<br /> liability insurance
<br /> No license for the installation, erection and
<br /> maintenance of signs shall be issued to any person
<br /> or shall any person install, erect, or maintain any
<br /> sign or medium of display or advertising, electric
<br /> or atherwise, until such person has filed with the
<br /> city clerk, a surety bond in the sum of one
<br /> thousand dullars ($1,000.00). Such bond shall be
<br /> approved by the building ofticial and city attorney
<br /> acid shall be conditioned for the installation and
<br /> erection of signs in accordance with the provisioris
<br /> of this Code, ordinarices of the City and the laws
<br /> of the State, and shall provide for the indemni-
<br /> fication of the City for any and all damages or
<br /> liability which may accrue against it by reason of
<br /> faulty installation, erection, deniolition, repair,
<br /> removal or defects in, or collapse of, any sign for
<br /> a periad of one (1) year after erection and for
<br /> such period of time that such sign is maintained or
<br /> serviceci by or under the direction of the maker of
<br /> such bond. Such bond shall further provide for the
<br /> indemnification of ariy person, who shall, while
<br /> uporâ–º public property or in any public place, incur
<br /> damage for which the principal named in the bond is
<br /> legally liable. When any sign contractor's license
<br /> has been caiicelled as provided by section 2$-16,
<br /> such liceiz5e shall not be reriewed until the
<br /> contractor furnishes an additi j~00 001), guaran~
<br /> amount of one thousand dvliars
<br /> teeing COIIIPLIaI1C° with the provisions of this
<br /> chapter, which bond shall be rcr a period of two
<br /> (2) years following renewal ot the license. In
<br /> addition to the above bond, edch contractor agrees
<br /> to indemnify, save, keep and hold harmless the City
<br /> of Paris, hereinafter referred to as "CITY", from
<br /> and against any and all demands, debts, liabil-
<br /> ities, suits, claims and causes of action of every
<br /> kind and character whatsuever for damage or
<br /> injuries to persons and/or property occurring on
<br /> the leased premises resulting from LICENSEE, his
<br /> invitees, agents, servants or employees' use, and
<br /> CITY shall not be liable to LICENSEE, his invitees,
<br /> agents, servants, employees or visitors due to the
<br /> improvements located thereon, or hereafter con-
<br /> structed, or any other condition of the premises
<br /> being improperly coxistructed, maintained or being
<br /> or becoming out of repair, LICENSEE hereby waiving
<br /> any defects therein and agrees to hold and save
<br /> CITY harmless from all claims for any such damages
<br /> or injuries, and LICENSEE must at all times during
