D. Creep-hole Door must be hinged and be constcucted of such materia{ W conform with foundation <br />skirt, and must be of adequate size for entrence into crawl spacc.(min, 16b x 16b'). <br />6.11. Foundation Drainage - When existing grades or excavations atlow water to accumulate under the structwe, <br />a drainage diteh must be dug so water must drain away from the house. Ditch must be tocated as per <br />individual speciflcation. Open ditches which constitute a trippinQ hazard must be replaced with French <br />drains. Freneh drain will be constructed of 6d perforated PVC drain field linc and installod in a ditch at <br />least 12b in depth and 8d wide. The ditch wili be back flled with P gravel and the dmin line protected <br />with fabric mesh. The dmin line must be placed at teast 2d above tho bottom of the ditch and centered to <br />allow gravel to surround it. Discharge must be a minunum of ten feet from the elosest edge of the structure <br />and at lesst 10" below the grsde level of the structure. Whenever possible, foundation drainage problems <br />will be corrocted through regrading, filling, campacting and planting of surrounding area. <br />6.12. Mosonry <br />6.13. Materials <br />A. Portland Cement: ASTM C150. Typel <br />B. Masonry Cement ASTM C 91 <br />C. Aggregate: ASTM C 144 <br />D. Brick: Facing brick ASTM C 216-71, grade MW, type FBS <br />6.14. Methods <br />A. Do not install cracked, bmken, or chipped masonry units• <br />B. Lay masonry units ptumb, teue to line and with level coursos accurately spaced within allowable <br />tolerances. <br />C. Adjust masonry units into final position while mortar is soft and plastic. <br />D. Lay masonry units with full mortar coverage on horizontal and vertical joints. <br />E. Provide weep holes in head joints in first course and immediately above all flashing. Maximum <br />spacing 48b' o.c.. <br />F. Attach masonry veneer to backing with metal veneer ties. Use at least one tie pcr 4 square fcet of <br />veneer. <br />G. Dry brush ma.sonry surface after each days work. Sctvb with acceptable cleaning agent. <br />7.0 Wood and Plaatica <br />7.1. Materials <br />A. All lumber must bc idcnNfied by thc appropriate grade stamp. <br />B. All new or replaced wood in contact with concrete, tarth, or within 12b', of ground level must be <br />pressure treated or woimanized lumber or lumber with natutsl resistance to decay. <br />C.
