B. Nails must be driven with their shanks peipendicular to the face of the board and seated below the <br />surface of the boand without brealcing the pepet. <br />C. The board must be cut to fit with tapered edges butting and ends butting. W}1e~ ~ssible joints <br />must be staggered. <br />16.5. Paneiing <br />A. Nails must be rnatclung color panelidg nails with screw head or annular thread shenk or finish nail <br />set and puttied. Length of nai] must provide at least 1/2b', penetration into wood support. Space <br />nails at least 12b on center. minimum 1/4t1, thick paneling securod vvith panel adhesive must be <br />used when stud spacing is gneater tlian 16b' on center. <br />B. There must be solid backing for all edges. Paneling must be installed level with no Baps between <br />sheets and where it meets the ceiling and floor. otber wall gaps are allowed only so wide as thc <br />trim must cover. <br />16.6. Drywall Repair <br />A. Must bc accamplished with the patched gypsum board of the see dimension as the original board <br />to kave the patched area in ptane with the surrounding drywall finish. Tape, float, and texcure to <br />match existing wa11 finish. , <br />16.7. Tape and Ftoat <br />A. <br />OvefJoints, the tape must be embedded in cement and covorcd with a thin layer of cement. A <br />second and third coat must be app(ied vvith each coat feathered and extended btyond We previous <br />coat by two inches. The finish coat must be sanded Iightly and any imperfections filled in prior to <br />any painting or decorating. <br />B. Cover nails with thrce (3) applications ofcement allowing time to dry betwcen each coat. The <br />final coat must be sanded lightly befote application of paint or other decoration. <br />C. Inside corners must be reinforced with tape embedded in cement, finish as specified'bver joints." <br />D. Outside comers must be protected by wood molding, metal molding, or metal corner bead <br />reinforcement. Metai corner reinforcement must be finished as specffied "overjoints" with two <br />coats of cement. <br />E. Texturing Ceilings must be stomped and dragged. Walls must be lightly textuned. For ropairs <br />texture should match existing. <br />17A Flooring <br />17.1. Materials <br />A. Batbroom underiayment must be 5/8d CDX exterior grade plywood over a 30 pound felt paper <br />vapor baurier. <br />B. All other floors must have 5/8b', Plywood installed with vapor barrier as in bathroom; floors must <br />be smooth and even throughout structur+es. <br />C.
