<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> consumption until such time as historical data of water use are <br /> available. <br /> <br /> (c) Users desiring to discharge sewage into the city's <br /> sewerage system, the strength of which sewage exceeds two hundred <br /> fifty (250) parts per million BOD; two hundred fifty (250) parts <br /> per million of suspended solids, or thirty (30) parts per million <br /> of ammonia, and which is acceptable under Article III ef this <br /> chapter, may do so upon written permission of the city and by <br /> paying a monthly treatment charge in the amount of twenty-six <br /> cents ($.26) per pound of BOD in excess of the allowable BOD; <br /> seventeen cents ($.17) for each pound of total suspended solids <br /> in excess of the allowable suspended solids; and sixteen cents <br /> ($.16) per pound of ammonia (NH3) in excess of the allowable <br /> ammonia strength. The city shall make the necessary tests of the <br /> user's sewage strength to determine this charge. The charge <br /> prescribed by this subsection shall be in addition to the charges <br /> prescribed in subsection (a) hereof. The above described <br /> excessive strength surcharge rates may be recalculated immedi- <br /> ately after the adoption of the annual budget, using the amount <br /> budgeted as cost and actual operational characteristics for the <br /> most recently completed twelve (12) month period for plant <br /> loading. Such rates shall become eff_ective when adopted by the <br /> city council or on June 1, whichever occurs first." <br /> Section 3. That Section 31-20 of the Code of Ordinances <br /> of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read <br /> as follows: <br /> "Sec. 31-20. Sewer Rates For customers not using <br /> city water. <br /> (a) WastPwater service to customers who do not receive <br /> water service f.rom the City shall be billed monthly based upon <br /> 70% of consumption based upon information obtained from water <br /> supplier plus a service charge not to exceed $5.00 for collecting <br /> the water consumption information from the water supplier. <br /> (b) Commercial and industrial customers without sewer <br /> meters will be charged on the basis of 70% of the actual metered <br /> water consumption. <br /> Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this <br /> ordinance shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall <br /> be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and each and every day's <br /> continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall <br /> constitute and be deemed a separate offense. <br /> Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict <br /> herewith are hereby expressly repealed. <br /> Section 6.
