<br /> which dates are not more than forty (40) nor less than
<br /> twenty (20) days prior to the institution of annexation

<br /> WHEREAS, written protest was filed with the City Clerk
<br /> of the City of Paris by more than twenty (20) adult resi-
<br /> dents who reside in the area to bP annexed described as
<br /> Tract 2 and an additional public hearing was held within the
<br /> area described as Tract 2 at 6:00 P.M. on September 28,
<br /> 1987, at the residence of Clyde Darnell located on the South
<br /> side of Fr1 Hwy 195; and,
<br /> kTHEREAS, notice of such public hearings was published
<br /> in a newspaper having general circulation in the City ol'
<br /> Paris, Paris, Texas, and in the above ciescribed territory,
<br /> on. the 23rd, 26th and 30th days of August, 1987, and on the
<br /> 15th day of September, 1987, which datPS are not mare than
<br /> twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of
<br /> such public hearings; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the Cit;~ of Paris,
<br /> Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1987, was 14,284
<br /> acres; and,
<br /> WHERFAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris,
<br /> Texas, is in excess of 25,000 and l.ess than 50,000 inhabi-
<br /> tants; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
<br /> extraterritoria.l. jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris,
<br /> Texas; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to
<br /> and adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 121.37
<br /> acres, more or less, which when added to other property
<br /> annexed ixi the year 1987 4-s less than ten per cent (10%) of
<br /> the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the
<br /> City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
<br /> WHERF.AS, a service plans providing for the extension of
<br /> municipal services to the above described territory should
<br /> be approVed; and,
