<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 86-027 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br /> PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE <br /> AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 26Z-9 (d) AND (i), SECTION <br /> 262-11 AND BY ADDING SECTION 262-33 TO SAID CODE; PROVIDING <br /> FOR HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS FOR BILLBOARDS AND GROUND AND POLE <br /> SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR A SPECIFIC USE FERMIT; PROVIDING FaR A <br /> PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br /> PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR <br /> AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER l, 1986. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PARIS: <br /> <br /> Section l. That the Code of Ordinances of the City <br /> of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section 262-9 <br /> (d) and (i) so that such shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 262-9. Prohibited Signs. <br /> <br /> (d) Ground signs. The size of ground signs <br /> shall be limited to one square foot per front foot <br /> of property upon which the same is placed; <br /> however, under no circumstances shall such sign <br /> exceed 300 square feet in area and 15 feet in <br /> height. No ground sigr shall be erected within 20 <br /> feet of any residence." <br /> (i) Pole signs. The size of pole signs <br /> shall be limited to one square foot per front foot <br /> of property upon which the same is placed; <br /> however, under no circumstances sha11 such sign <br /> exceed 300 square feet in area and 15 feet in <br /> height except that pole signs may exceed 15 feet <br /> when erected adjacent to an elevated portion of <br /> Loop 286 or adjacent to an elevated portion of any <br /> Farm to Market, Texas or United States highway <br /> nutside of Loop 286 and upon the granting of a <br /> special use permit. No pole sign shall be erected <br /> within 20 feet of any residence." <br /> Section 2. That the Code of Ordinances of the City <br /> of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section <br /> 262-11 so that such shall- read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 262-11. Same Construction. <br /> No billboard or ground sign constructed of <br /> wood or other combustible material shall be <br /> erected in the fire limits nor within 50 feet of <br /> any frame building, nor within 25 feet of any <br /> building having unprotected openings in the wall <br /> on the side nearest the billboard, provided; <br /> however, that posts and braces supporting a ground <br /> sign, and the skeleton fraine of a billboard not <br /> exceeding 15 feet in height abave the curb level, <br /> may be wood; and there may also be a wood moulding <br /> or border, not over 8 inches wide around the edge <br /> of such structure. The lower edge of every such <br /> billboard shall be not less than 3 feet above the <br /> ground, and the space between the lower edge of <br /> the billboard and the ground shall be left open or <br /> mav be closed with lattice work which leaves at <br /> least 50% of the space open. The upper edge of <br /> the billboard shall be not more than 30 feet above <br /> the ground." <br />
