ORDINANCE N0. 85-035 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 18 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING PROVIDING FOR THE ELIMINATION OF LOCAL ALAP.M SYSTEMS FROM PERMIT REQUIREMENTS; ELIMINATION OF THE 30 DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR NEW ALARM SYSTEMS; DECREASING THE SERVICE FEE FOR FALSE ALARMS; INCREASING THE TIME PERMITTED FOR PERMIT HOLDER REPRESENTATIVE REPORTING TO THE PLACE OF ALARM; SPECIFYING INFORMATION TU BE DISPLAYED ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE ALARM LOCATION; AND DELETING THE REQUIREMENT FOR FURNISHING OPERATION PROCEDURES AND SENSOR LOCATIONS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TQ EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1985. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Section 18.41 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 18.41. Definitions. The following words and terms, as used herein, have the r.ieaning respectively ascribed to them, as follows: ALARM SYSTEM. An electrical or electric mechanica device or system which transmits a signal intended to summon an emergency service of the City in response to an emergency. The cat- egories of alarm systems are robbery, burglary, fire, emergency medical assistance, and emergency assistance. Alarm system does not mean an alarm installed on a vehicle, unless used for a habita- tion at a permanent site, or an alarm designated to alert only the inhabitants within a premise, but does include an alarm that emits an audible signal on the exterior of a structure. . . Section 2. That Section 18.42 of the Code of Ordi- nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 18.42. Permit Requirements. (1) A person commits an offense if he installs, operates or causes to be operated an alarm system other than an local alarm without first obtaining a permit from the Director. A separate permit is required for each alarm site and each type of alarm system as hereinabove defined at each site. (4) Each permit application must contain the name, address, and telephone number of the person who is responsible for the proper maintenance and operation of the alarm system and payment of fees or charges levied under this chapter. Each permit application must also contain the name, address, and telephone number of at least two (2) persons
