That Section 31.19 of the Code of Ordinances <br /> of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such <br /> shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 31-19. Sewer rates - For customers using <br /> city water. <br /> <br /> (a) Charges for sewer service furnished by <br /> the city to domestic and commercial customers who <br /> are also users of city water are hereby fixed at <br /> eighty (80) percent of the monthly charge for <br /> water based on the water used, as registered by <br /> the user's water meter. <br /> (b) The minimum monthly charge under sub- <br /> section (a) above sha11 be one dollar and <br /> seventy-two cents ($1.72). <br /> (c) The charge for sewer service for a <br /> single-family residence shall not exceed seventeen <br /> dollars ($17.00) per month, regardlPSS of inetered <br /> water consumption. <br /> <br /> (d) Users desiring to discharge sewage <br /> exceeds two hundred fifty (250) parts per million <br /> BOD; two hundred fif.ty (250) parts per milli_on of <br /> suspended solids or 30 parts per million of <br /> ammonia, and which is acceptable under Article 3 <br /> of this chapter, may do so upon written permission <br /> of the city and by paying a monthly treatment <br /> surcharge in the amount of $0.7339 per one million <br /> (1,000,000) gallons of sewage flow for each one <br /> part per million in excess of the allowable BOD; <br /> $0.5712 per one million (1,000,000) gallons of <br /> sewage flow for each one part per million in <br /> excess of the allowable suspended solids and $2.36 <br /> per one million (1,000,000) gallons of sewage flow <br /> for each one part per million in excess of the <br /> allowable ammonia strength. The city shall make <br /> the necessary tests of the user's sewage strength <br /> to determine this charge. The charge prescribed <br /> by this subsection shall be in addition to the <br /> charges prescribed in subsection (a)." <br /> Section 3. That Section 31-20 of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be <br /> amended so that such shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 31-20. Same - For customers r_ot using city <br /> water. <br /> Single-family residence sewerage customers, <br /> who are not also water customers of the city, <br /> shall pay a flat rate charge of seventeen dollars <br /> ($17.00) per month for sewerage service. All <br /> other sewerage customers, who are not also water <br /> users of the city, shall pay a flat monthly rate <br /> to be determined by the city manager." <br /> Section 4. That sub-paragraph (a) of Section 31-24 <br /> of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, <br /> Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 31-24. Ileposit to assure payment. <br /> (a) Each purchaser or consumer of city water <br /> shall, at the time of making application for water <br /> service, make a deposit, with the division, in the <br /> following amount: <br />
