ORDINANCE N0. $4-071 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 31-3 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR REVISION OF FEE FOR WATER ANU SEWER TAPS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER l, 1984. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section l. That Section 31-3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 31-3. Application and fee for water and sewer taps. (a) Each person desiring a water or sewer tap within the city shall make application to the department of public works and shall pay a fee for each such tap as follows: (1) Each water tap in or across a hard- surfaced street, $300.00. (2) Each sewer tap in or across hard- surfaced street, $400.00. (3) Each water tap in or across unimproved or dirt street, or in an area not in a public street, $135.00, (4) Each sewer tap in or across an unim- proved or dirt street, or in an area not in public street, $210.00. (b) The fees prescribed by subsection (a) shall apply to a thr_ee-fourths (3/4) inch water tap and a four (4) inch sewer tap within the ROW [right-of-way] of streets of which the City of Paris is responsible for maintenance. The fee for all other water and sewer taps shall be determined by the City Engineer based on actual cost. An estimated cost deposit will be required in advance." Section 2. Any person violating any of the pro- visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sur_Z not to exceed $200.00, and each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. Section. 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on November 1, 1984.
