<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at a point in the South boundary <br /> line of said tract, said South boundary line being <br /> that part of the tract lying adjacent to Stone <br /> Avenue, which point will be approximately 300 feet <br /> West of the Southeast ccrner of the portion of <br /> said 94.07 acre tract now owned by Estelle Council; <br /> THENCE in a Westerly direction with the South <br /> boundary line of the 94.07 acre tract of land <br /> approximately 511 feet, a stake; <br /> THENCE in a Northerly direction 511 feet, a <br /> stake; <br /> THENCE in an Easterly direction parallel with <br /> the South boundary line of said tr_act approximate- <br /> ly 511 feet, a stake; <br /> THENCE in a Southerly direction approximately <br /> 511 feet to the place of beginning, containing 6 <br /> acres of land. <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Paris, <br /> Paris, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to cause <br /> notice of such public hearings to be published once in the <br /> newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the <br /> above described territory not more that twenty (20) days nor <br /> less than ten (10) da.ys prior to the date of such public <br /> hearings, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation <br /> Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular <br /> Session, 1963; compiled as Article 970a, Vernon's Texa.s <br /> Civil Statutes). <br /> Section 3. It is hereby declared to be the inten- <br /> tion of the City Council of the City of Paris that the <br /> sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this <br /> ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sen- <br /> tence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be <br /> declared uncontstitutional or invalid by the valid judgment <br /> or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such <br /> unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of <br /> the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and <br /> sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been <br /> enacted by the city Council without the incorporation in <br /> this ordinance of any unconstitutional or invalid phrases, <br /> clauses, sentences, paragraphs or sections. It is further <br /> hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council of <br /> the City of Paris to exclude any area or areas described in <br /> the description of the pr.apPrty to be annexed, which are not <br /> within said City's jurisdiction to annex and that such area <br /> or areas should be carved out of the description of the <br /> property herein described by the valid judgment or decree of <br /> any court of competent jurisdiction, in order that such area <br /> or areas would not causP this annexation ordinance to be <br /> found to be invalid, voidable or void. <br /> Section 4.
