<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> SECTIOr1 31-38. DISCHARGE REGULATIONS <br /> <br /> A. PRIVATE COLLECTION SYSTEM RESTRICTIONS <br /> No person owning property within two hundred (200) <br /> feet of a public sewer shall construct, use or maintain or <br /> allow to be constructed, used or maintained, on or about <br /> such property, any privy, cesspool, water closet, urinal, <br /> slop sink, slop drain, bathtub, waste drain, or any other <br /> apparatus for the purpose of receiving or removing sewage <br /> matter or slop of any kind, unless the same is connected <br /> with the sanitary sewer system of the City. <br /> B. CONNECTION TO SEWER5 REQUIRED <br /> <br /> Every building containing plumbing, any portion of <br /> which is within two hundred (200) feet of an available <br /> sewer, shall be connected with a public sewer within six <br /> months after the owner, leasee, or occupant thereof <br /> receives written notice from the Director of Community <br /> Development to do so. For the purposes of this provision, <br /> notice shall begin upon mailing of said notice by certified or <br /> registered mail directed to owner, leasee or occupant. <br /> Upon failure of said owner, leasee or occupant to <br /> connect said premises to a public sewer, the Director of <br /> Community Development shall have the right to make the <br /> connection of said premises to the public sewer and charge <br /> the cost thereof, including labor and materials necessarily <br /> used, as well as any other expenses connected therewith, <br /> against such owner, leasee or occupant, who shall be <br /> personally liable for the payment thereof. To secure <br /> payment of such costs, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas <br /> shall have a lien against the property on which the <br /> connection was made. <br /> C. WASTEWATER FROM CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE CITY <br /> LIMITS <br /> The POTW may elect to accept wastewater from sources <br /> outside the City of Paris, Paris, Texas. Acceptance of <br /> holding tank wastes such as, but not limited to, septage <br /> may be accepted at the discretion of the Supervisor after <br /> consideration of the POTW's ability to treat the waste <br /> properly and with the approval of the Supervisor of Public <br /> Works, City Engineer and Wastewater Supervisor. Unless <br /> otherwise directed the rate for acceptance will be twice the <br /> cost to treat. This shall in no way prohibit the City of <br /> Paris, Paris, Texas, from making individual contracts <br /> between the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and an outside <br /> user. No outside user shall make any plumbing connection <br /> or pump or pipe wastewater to the POTW without the <br /> specific approval of the City Council of the City of Paris, <br /> Paris, Texas. <br /> D. GENERAL PROHIBITIONS <br /> No user shall contribute or cause to be contributed, <br /> directly or indirectly, into the POTW, storm drains, grourid <br /> surface or ground water any pollutaxit or wastewater which <br /> will interfere with the operation or performance of the <br /> publicly owned treatment works. Substances whose <br /> discharge may be prohibited by the Supervisor when they <br /> interfere with the operation or performance of the publicly <br /> owned threatment works include but are not limited to the <br /> following : <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 10 <br />
