<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 1317) into the POTW (including holding tank <br /> waste) . <br /> 24) Industrial User - A source of indirect discharge <br /> which does not constitute a "discharge of <br /> pollutants" under regulations issued pursuant to <br /> Section 402 of the Act (33 U.S.C. 1342), <br /> including the following : <br /> <br /> a) A major industry discharging in excess of <br /> two hundred (200) pounds of BOD or <br /> suspended solids per day, or a waste <br /> containing toxic or hazardous material; <br /> b) An institution discharging through a <br /> monitoring device; <br /> c) A light industry discharging less than two <br /> hundred (200) pounds of BOD or suspended <br /> solids per day; <br /> d) A commercial industry discharging domestic <br /> waste, but with the potential to discharge <br /> industrial or toxic waste by spillage or <br /> process revision. <br /> 25) Industrial Waste - Waste resulting from any <br /> process involved with industry, manufacturing, <br /> trade or business concerned with the development <br /> of any natural resource, or any mixture of the <br /> waste with water or domestic wastewater, or <br /> distinct from normal wastewater. <br /> 26) Interference - Any inhibition or disruption of the <br /> POTW treatment processes or operations which <br /> contributes to a violation of any requirements or <br /> limitations of the City's NPDES permit. The term <br /> also includes any prevention of sludge use or <br /> disposal by the POTW in accordance with Section <br /> 405 of the Act (33 U. S. C. 1345) or any criteria, <br /> guidelines, or regulations developed pursuant to <br /> the Solid Waste Disposal Act ( SWDA) , the Clean <br /> Air Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, or <br /> more stringent state criteria (including those <br /> contained in any state sludge management plan <br /> prepared pursuant to Title IV of SWDA applicable <br /> to the method of disposal or use employed by the <br /> POTW). <br /> 27) Milligrams per liter (mg/1) - A weight-to-volume <br /> ratio equivalent to parts per million. <br /> 28) National Categorical Pretreatment Standard - Also <br /> referenced simply as "Pretreatment Standard", <br /> denoting any regulation containing pollution <br /> discharge limits promulgated by the EPA in <br /> accordance with Section 307 (b) and (c) of the <br /> Act (33 U. S. C. 1347) which applies to a specific <br /> category of industrial users. <br /> 29) National Pollution Discharge Elimination System <br /> (NPDES) Permit-A permit issued pursuant to <br /> Section 402 of the Act (33 U.S.C. 1342). <br /> 30) National Prohibitive Discharge Standard - <br /> Sometimes referenced as "Prohibitive Discharge <br /> Standard", denoting any regulation developed <br /> under the authority of Section 307 (b) of the Act <br /> and 40 CFR, Section 403.5. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 5 <br />
