ORDINANCE N0. 2631 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 28-11 AND SECTION 28-12 OF SAID CaDE: PROVIDING THAT THE HOTELOCOFPREVENUEDERIVEDRFROMDSAMEFBEREXPANDEDCINT AND THAT THE US ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 0F THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Section 28-11 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 28-11. Tax Levied. (a) There is hereby imposed and lieved a tax upon the occupant of any room or space furnished by any hotel where the cost of occupancy is at the rate of two dollars ($2.00) or riore per day, such tax to be equal to four (4) percent of the consideration paid by any such occupant of anher u space bycothereunitscofsive of ot Pancy government. (b) A portion of the tax revenue derie~den~om the levy herein equal to at least one (1) p of the cost of the occupancy of hotel rooms, shall be la.sed for the purpose of advertising and conducting solicitation programs to acquaint notential users with public meetings and convention facilities, and for promotion of tourism and advertising of the City and its vicinity either by the City or to contract ~ with persons or organizations selected by the City. Section 2. That Section 28-12 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be ar.iended so that such shall read as follows : "Section 28-12. Use of revenue limited. The revenue derived from the hotel occupancy tax herein levied under the authority granted in iairticle 1269j-4.1 Vernons Texas Civil Statutes may only be used for: (a) the acquisition of sites for and the construc- tion, improvement, enlarging, equipping, repairing, operation, and maintenance of convention center facilities including, but not limited to, ci_vic center convention buildings, auditorium.s, coliseums, civic theaters, rruseums and parking areas or facilities for the parking or storage of motor vehicles or other conveyances located at or in the immmediate vicinity of the convention center facilities; (b) the furnishing of facilities, personnel and r.materials for the registration of convention delegates or registrants;
