ORDINANCE NO. 2409 A N ORDINA NCE OF THE CITY OF PA R IS, PA R IS, TEXA S, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 21 OF SAID CODE; PRO- VIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVID- ING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 25, 1978. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section l. That Sections 21-1 through 21-4 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be renumbered as Sections 21-12 through 21-15. Section 2. That Sections 21-1 and 21-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 21-1. Department created. There is hereby created in accordance with Section 25 of the Charter of the City of Paris the Department of Parks and Recreation, whose head shall be known as the Director of Parks and Recreation. Sec. 21-2. Purpose. The purpose of the Department of Parks and Recreation shall be to plan and develop parks and open space for the City of Paris and to develop recreational proarams to meet the needs of the citizenry of the City of Paris. " Section 3. That Sections 21-3 through 21-11 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be reserved for future use. Section 4. A 11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective on September 25, 1978.
