<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 2451 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ?ZE- <br /> IMPOSING THE TAX IMPOSED BY THE LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX ACT <br /> (ARTICLE 1066c, VERNON'S TEXAS CIVIL STATUTES) ON THE SALE AND <br /> DISTRIBL'TIOiV OF GAS AND ELECTRICITY FOR RESIDEIdTIAL USE IN SA.T_D <br /> CITY; REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 2406 OF THE CITY OF PARIS AND RE- <br /> PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- <br /> WITH; AND PROVIDING FOR Ar1 EFFECTIVE DATE : <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PARIS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Paris, <br /> by majority vote, under the authority granted in Section 4, <br /> Article 1066c, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, does hereby re- <br /> impose the taxes authorized by the said Local Sales and Use <br /> Tax Act upon the receipts from the sale, production, distri- <br /> bution, lease, or rental of, and the use, storage or other <br /> consumption of gas and electricity for residential use. <br /> Section 2. Ordinance No. 2406, adopted by the City <br /> Council of the City of Paris on the llth day of September, 1978, <br /> which exempted the aforesaid receipts from the Local Sales <br /> and Use Tax, is hereby repealed. <br /> Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Paris is hereby <br /> directed to transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to the <br /> Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of Texas by United <br /> States Certified Mail, Return Receipt requested. <br /> Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- <br /> flict herewith are hereby expresslv repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 5.
