ORDINANCE N0. 2498 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS, 1812, 1814 and 1836; ESTABLISHING THE SPEED LIMITS ON FM 1507 (JEFFERSON ROAD) FROM ITS INTERSECTIOTI WITH STATE HIGHWAY 24 EASTERLY TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH FM 905; PROVIDING FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEAL- ING ALL ORDINANCES OP PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MAY l, 1980. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section l. That Ordinance Nos. 1812, 1814 and 1836 are amended so that the speed limit on FM 1507 (Jefferson Road) from its intersection with State Highway 24 easterly to its intersect- ion with FTZ 905 shall be as follows: "From State Highway 24, Easterly 0.423 miles, 40 miles per hour; thence Easterly 0.740 miles, 50 miles per hour; thence Easterly 0.350 miles, 45 miles per hour at all times, other than when the school children are actually crossing the Highway, which will be brought to the attention of motorists by signs, and then only between T4ile Post 2.215 and Mile Post 2.465, at which time a speed limit of 30 miles per hour shall be in effect; thence Easterly 1.984 miles, a speed limit of 50 miles per hour, all of which is depicted on State Department of Highways and Public Transportation strip map attached hereto." Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $200.00. Section 3. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on May 1, 1980.
