Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />Called Meeting Minutes <br />April 16, 2012 <br />Board Members <br />Present: Pike Burkhart, Sr. <br />Kenny Dority <br />Bruce Carr <br />Rick Poston <br />Ex-Officio Members <br />Present: Judge Chuck Superville <br />Pam Anglin, PJC President <br />Staff <br />Present: Steve Gilbert, PEDC <br />Shannon Barrentine. PEDC <br />Guest(s) <br />Present: .leff Parish, <br />eParisTexas/Extra <br />Legal <br />Counsel: None <br />City Council <br />Liaison: John Wright <br />Pike Burkhart, called the meeting to order at 4:09 p.m. Pike welcomed those present. <br />Discussion and qossible action to consider apqroval of aResolution in suqport of the Rural Jobs and <br />Innovation Accelerator Grant Apqlication seekine $715,000 in Federal funding over a three vear <br />period through the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and the U.S. Department of <br />Agriculture (USDA). The Paris EDC will provide matchin2 funds_throui!h our 3-Year Business Plan. <br />Steve Gilbert addressed those present and told them that the grant application had to submitted <br />electronically through Grants.gov. Expecting Resolutions of support by the Lamar County Commissioner's <br />Court and Paris City Council on April 23"d . Followed by the saine at the Arh-Tex COG Board meeting oil <br />April 26`". There are no grant funds for administrative (staff) support. Discussion took place as to the <br />proposed budget and what that funding amount would be for each of the 3 years. <br />Note: Kenny Dority left at 4:45 p.m. <br />Steve added tllat the draft of the application would be reviewed by staffers in the USDA and EDA State <br />offices. It was decided that the metrics were too aggressive and was suggested to review and reduce thern, <br />and to remove them from the supporting Resolution. <br />Note: John Wright left at 5:03 p.m. <br />Rick Poston made a motion to delete the specific goals (metrics) and recoini-nended approval of the <br />Resolution, as submitted; seconded by Bruce Carr. Motion Carried 3-0. <br />The Board did not convene into executive session, as posted. <br />Rick Poston made a motion to adjourn at 5:34 p.m.; seconded by Bruce Carr.
