Draft
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
DECLARING THREE (3) HOLMATRO PERSONAL POWER PUMPS (PPU'S)
WITH COMBI-TOOLS (SPREADERS/CUTTERS) TO BE SURPLUS
PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING DONATION OF THE SURPLUS PROPERTY
TO THE LAMAR COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
ASSOCIATION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Paris Fire Department has retired (3) Holmatro Personal Power
Pumps (PPU's) with Combi-Tools (spreader/cutters) that have been discontinued by the
manufacturer and replaced with newer, more powerful tools; and,
WHEREAS, there is no known municipal use for this equipment, and it would be
right and proper to declare the same to be surplus property; and,
WHEREAS, local Volunteer Fire Departments in Lamar County have assisted the
Paris Fire Department many times in the past when we have called for assistance by
providing water tenders (tankers) and brush apparatus. The volunteer Fire Departments
in Lamar County do not have these types of rescue tools and we recommend donating this
surplus property to them in appreciation for their continued support, to maintain and
enhance our relationship with them, and to help others as well.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the (3) Holmatro Personal Power Pumps (PPU'S) with
Combi-Tools (Spreader/cutters), be, and are hereby declared to be surplus property and
the same may be donated to the Lamar County Volunteer Fire Department Association in
accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 31st day of May, 2012.
A.J. Hashmi, M.D., Mayor
- 118
