Follow up report on Gov Q A items # 1094 and 1095. <br />POLICY ISSUE(S): <br />Public service. <br />Mayor Hashmi requested a report detailing what activity had taken place as a result of the two Gov QA <br />messages that were discussed at the last Council meeting. <br />On 1/9/12 Gov QA message # 1094 was received at 3:40 pm alleging a house in dilapidated condition. <br />Code Officer Lane placed this item on her spreadsheet list of cases to work at 4:19 pm that same day and <br />closed the message on Gov QA since the message sender was anonymous and could not come back and <br />check the status of this complaint on Gov QA. On 1/17/12 Code Officer Lane inspected the <br />property1259 NW 16I". A letter was mailed to the owners stating that they needed to clean up rubbish <br />and secure the property. A follow up visit showed that the rubbish had been cleaned up, but the house <br />was still unsecured. A certified letter was sent 5/16/12 instructing the owners to secure the house. <br />On 1/9/12 Gov QA message # 1095 was received at 3:50 pm alleging substandard living conditions of <br />various sorts. Code Officer Lane placed this item on her spreadsheet list of cases to work at 4:20 pm that <br />same day and closed the message on Gov QA since the message sender was anonymous and could not <br />come back and check the status of this complaint on Gov QA. On 1/17/12 Code Officer Lane inspected <br />the property1248 NW 16th.The property showed no outward signs of a violation. Building Official <br />Smith was requested to investigate the location since the complaint stated, among other things, that there <br />was inadequate sewer sanitation. Building Inspector Smith had the water disconnected to this residence <br />due to the sewer issue.
