I have heard from a mmaber of you in ~m.~ller Texas communities that this keen competitiou is a source of frustration to you wlma your local need is just t¢or a small amotmt of money to provide one or two basic recreation f~o_'lltie, s, We are pl.~sed to introduce a pilot grant program to hopefully addres?, the n. eeds you have to provide ba.~ie recreation oppormaitles for your citizea$. We are calling this program the Texas Recreation and Parks Account Small Grants Program. Here are a {ew of the details: What: Small grants not to exceed $50,000 in matching ftmds (50%) for the development of public outdoor recreation fac~kies. Total funds available for this pilot program are $500,000. Who: Local governments (cities, countie~ and certain others) of a total population of $0,000 or leas that can'Ixovide a 50% match.
